Task
How can Interface Design provide solutions for suistanability? (University project)

My Solution
Eco Wario Ware is based on the original game Wario Ware for the Wii where one plays through a collection of bizarre, humoristic and extremely fast past microgames. Eco Wario Ware stays true to the original with the exception that the levels are designed to mediate energy saving tips.

Wario Ware from Nintendo is a collection of fast paste mini-games.

One of the key challenges of the project was to embed this serious information without compromising on fun nor gameplay. When concepting a serious game it can be very seductive to put in a lot of meaningful information on the surface for the player to “understand”. While this can be good for training software, it's less suited for entertainment.

Therefore, the aim of
Eco Wario Ware is not primary to teach energy saving tips, but rather to tint the subject of sustainability in a 'cooler' tone, which can have equally powerful consequences. However it's possible that a player wants to bring back a hilarious moment from the game. So for example: while brushing his teeth (in real life) he quickly closes the running water tap and have a good laugh about it.
